Author’s Note on Photoshop & Lightroom Classic CC Editing Guide
This book didn’t begin with the goal of simply teaching software.
I wanted it to become a thoughtful companion for those stepping into the world of digital photo editing for the first time—
a guide that explores not only how to edit, but more importantly, why we make certain choices.
Since the release of the first edition, I’ve received countless questions, reviews, and thoughtful feedback from readers over the past three years.
Each response became a new form of learning for me and, ultimately, the driving force behind this revised edition.
While I’ve long shared editing principles and workflow insights on YouTube,
I still believe a book offers a unique depth and structure that video alone cannot provide.
So I went back to the beginning—reorganizing the content, refining the explanations, and completely updating the material to match the latest features of Adobe CC.
What was previously two separate volumes is now streamlined into one, carefully edited to retain all the essentials while removing unnecessary repetition.
Photo editing is not just a technical skill—it’s a process that refines and communicates the photographer’s intent and point of view.
Through this book, I wanted to go beyond technical adjustments like color correction, exposure, contrast, and tone.
I aimed to continually ask and answer: Why this adjustment? What do we want to highlight? What should remain hidden?
It’s not just about learning the tools, but understanding the philosophy and intuition behind photo editing.
This revised edition is the result of an ongoing dialogue with my readers.
For beginners, I hope it becomes an approachable, friendly guide.
For intermediate users, I hope it serves as a structured refresher.
At its core, editing is an act of expanding expression—and I hope this book becomes your first step in that creative journey.
