영등포 독립운동 기념터

이곳은 1919년 3월 23일 당시 영등포면 양평리 일대에서 약 300여 명의 시민과 학생이 모여 대한독립만세를 외치며 대규모 만세운동이 일어난 장소로, 현재 양평동 롯데양평빌딩 인근에 표지석이 세워져 그 역사를 기리고 있습니다.
Yeongdeungpo Independence Movement Memorial Site
This site commemorates the large-scale March 1st Movement protest that took place on March 23, 1919, in the Yangpyeong-ri area of Yeongdeungpo, then a small township on the outskirts of Seoul. Around 300 citizens and students gathered here to shout "Daehan Dongnip Manse" (Long live Korean independence), echoing the nationwide call for liberation from Japanese colonial rule. Today, a commemorative stone marker stands near the Lotte Yangpyeong Building in Yangpyeong-dong, honoring the bravery and unity of those who participated in this historic local uprising during Korea’s struggle for independence.
