천안 아우내 3.1운동 독립사적지

이곳은 1919년 4월 1일 유관순 열사가 서울에서 내려와 아우내 장터에서 약 3천 명의 군중과 함께 독립선언서를 낭독하며 “대한독립만세”를 외친 호서 지역 최대 규모의 만세운동이 전개된 역사적 현장입니다
Aunae March 1st Independence Movement Historic Site, Cheonan
This site marks the location of the largest independence demonstration in the Hoseo region during the March 1st Movement. On April 1, 1919, Yu Gwan-sun, a teenage independence activist who had returned from Seoul, led a crowd of around 3,000 people in reading the Declaration of Independence and shouting “Daehan Dongnip Manse” (“Long live Korean independence!”) at Aunae Marketplace. The protest was met with brutal suppression by Japanese forces, and Yu Gwan-sun was later arrested and died under harsh imprisonment. The site stands today as a powerful symbol of grassroots resistance and the vital role of youth in Korea’s independence struggle.
