Nangfha, look back on kingdom again.
Sukhothai is a small city in Lower Northern Thailand, and the Capital of the Province of this name, most famous for the ruins of the ancient city Sukhothai. The name translates as “the dawn of happiness”. Sukhothai was capital of the first kingdom of Siam established some 800 years ago. The exact year is unknown but according to the Fine Arts Office it was between 1238 and 1257. Sukhothai was ruled by many kings. In this connection, the most dynamic monarch being King Ramkhamhaeng the Great, who created the Thai alphabet, laid the foundation for politics, monarchy, and religion, as well as, expanded its boundary of influence.
The Historic Town of Sukhothai and Associated Historic Towns is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Thailand. It was inscribed into the list in 1991 citing its cultural value. The site comprises of several properties including the Sukhothai Historical Park.
I plan to work ‘The concept of an ancient 13th CE Sukhothai meets a Modern History park in the present time’. So I have an idea to explain the image of Thai angel called ‘Nangfha’ from Sukhothai era comes from the heaven to visit in the Modern History Park. I asked model to dress up the Sukhothai traditional dress and jump on the photos to explain that this is an angel ‘Nagfha’.
My inspired by the artist who I forget his name. I saw his art work on French photo magazine named ‘PHOTO’ in 1997. I can’t find out any name or anything about him. Because of all written by French and that magazine was gone while I was moving house for couple times. However, I guessed that He is well known photographer. The ‘PHOTO’ magazine introduced his work for 3 or 4 pages at that time. If somebody knows something about him, please tell me. By the way, it’s a kind of homage for him from Korean photographer.
If the reality express on illusion, ‘Nangfha’ is the history itself about what she remembers of the Sukhothai ‘s glory. The great era of kingdom was vanished and forgotten for discovery it again. Even in this present time, it is going to be same circle like that. When the future will come, why not enjoy to visit the place that we had been living as like ‘Nangfha’.
I had appreciated to the officer of Sukhothai history park who helped me about photography work at that time.
